Anne-Sophie Mutter: THE SEASONS

Music brings people together. For star violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, this unwavering conviction has been a driving force throughout her life and has defined her work. Her latest project The Seasons is a strong reflection of her commitment. Together with composer Sebastian Currier and filmmaker Pawel Wojtasik, she sets out on a cinematic and musical journey that follows the Hudson River from its source all the way to New York. By cleverly integrating Antonio Vivaldi’s timeless Four Seasons into their multimedia synthesis of the arts, the trio have created a Gesamtkunstwerk that vividly demonstrates the impact of our modern lifestyle on nature. “It is a moment of celebration, but also a warning about how fragile the beauty of nature can be.” (Anne-Sophie Mutter). This world tour featuring first performances of The Seasons is a project Anne-Sophie Mutter is particularly passionate about. It is also a major highlight in a year of special events as she celebrates 50 years on stage.
