Out of the Box!

Award-winning saxophonist, band leader, actor and composer Branford Marsalis feels equally at home in the world of classical music. Luckily, he is not a man who likes to be defined by any specific category. Born in America into a famous family of jazz musicians, Branford’s ability to move effortlessly from one musical genre to another is part of his fascination. For the same reason, his ProArte concert also promises to be irresistible. A world-class saxophonist, he remains true to himself with a performance of a brand-new composition by Jeff Beal, who also wrote the film music for Monk and House of Cards. Marsalis shares the stage with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, well-known for operating as a musical democracy. A foot-tapping good time is guaranteed for all as the orchestra swings smoothly from classical to jazz and from Duke Ellington to George Gershwin.
