Beethoven Old and New

Just when you think you know Beethoven’s music really well, you find out he wrote some pieces for piano and orchestra that most people have never heard of. They are also rarely performed. The works the Berliner Barock Solisten have selected for their ProArte concert are true ear-openers. They include Beethoven’s so-called Piano Concerto No. 0, which he wrote when he was still a wunderkind of the same calibre as Mozart. It is a charming piece of music that clearly shows his talent as a composer, although he was only in his early teens at the time. And who better to perform it than the exciting soloist and superstar Daniil Trifonov. Together with the Berliner Barock Solisten, he will take us on a journey to rediscover works from long ago. Although the music feels familiar, there are so many fresh aspects to discover as we listen.
