Evgeny Kissin | Sir András Schiff

With two legendary pianists at the keyboard, this is a concert for true piano connoisseurs. Sir András Schiff and his younger colleague Evgeny Kissin have been champions of the piano circuit for decades. Each a highly acclaimed pianist, they get together for a musical conversation at the Elbphilharmonie. Both have outstanding technique, a deeply serious approach to performing and a beautiful sound. They avoid exaggerated pathos and big gestures and focus solely on the intrinsic power of the music. Their ProArte programme includes well-loved classics for two soloists, such as Mozart’s Sonata in D major and Dvořák’s lively Slavonic Dances, as well as rare treasures by Robert Schumann. However, we predict the highlight of the evening will be Smetana’s famous Moldau in a version for two pianists.
