A Double Helping of Magic
What could possibly make cello fans happier than listening to a cello concerto by Camille Saint-Saëns? The answer is simple. They would prefer to hear two cello concertos composed by the grand master of French musical art. Sol Gabetta fully agrees with them and has decided to perform both his cello concertos at her Hamburg concert. The star cellist has always been particularly fond of music by Saint- Saëns. After all, the first piece she ever performed with an orchestra was his famous Concerto in A minor. On stage, the composer has since been one of her most faithful companions, and she has remained one of his most loyal supporters. Nevertheless, it is very rare for her to play both his cello concertos on the same evening. Gabetta is convinced that Saint-Saëns wanted "his" cellists to create something special on stage. It shouldn’t be anything extravagant but rather a certain kind of magic that is different to anything the audience has ever heard before. If magic is what Saint- Saëns wanted, then Sol Gabetta is definitely the right cellist for the job!

There are currently no more tickets available for the current season’s Abo Ck - Internationale Solisten kompakt.
