Inner Strength in Music

This concert will get under your skin! If you are ready for music that takes you to the boundary of life and death, then you have come to the right place. After a four-year break, the world-renowned musicians of The Cleveland Orchestra are returning to the Elbphilharmonie. As always, we can expect exceptional artistic and programming quality from them. For almost a quarter of a century, the amazing sound culture of this leading American orchestra has been shaped by Franz Welser-Möst. Together with the orchestra, he loves to focus on works that explore the meaning of life. This season, Welser-Möst and The Cleveland Orchestra hope to provide us with deeply moving insights into the melancholy and introspective thoughts of Richard Strauss at the end of a fulfilling life as a composer. They will be joined by Golda Schultz, who will use the emotional power and beauty of her voice to create the emotional perfection Strauss wrote into his Four Last Songs.
