Tutto Verdi

With his charismatic high notes and a vocal range from powerfully assertive to tenderly soft, Jonas Kaufmann from Munich has it all. It is no surprise that he has been recognised for more than two decades as one of the best tenors in the world. For his 2026 season at ProArte, he has selected a programme of Verdi’s music. Slipping effortlessly into each role with his usual vocal brilliance and intense emotional depth, Kaufmann takes us from the darkness of Othello to the unscrupulous wickedness of the Duke of Mantua (the scoundrel who sang the eternal earworm and worldwide hit „La donna è mobile“), and the tragic loves of Radamès and Don Carlo. The secret of Kaufmann’s success is not just his gorgeous singing voice, but also his ability to bring each character to life with depth, authenticity and compassion.
